Tooth colored fillings are comprised of plastic, silica, and glass particles. These substances combine to replicate the qualities of natural tooth structure like translucency and resistance to wear. This allows Dr. Johnson to make sure that it completely fills the cavity. Once the filling material is in place, it is hardened with a special light that bonds the composite resin to the tooth.
